The sweet vanilla cakes with fluffy colourful icing fill up display cases- in many shapes and colours. The shop is actually quite tiny. There were 5 customers inside and that was a crowd! I found that as soon as i entered the doors a small queue has formed behind me- everyone swaying and craning their necks to check out what was on offer today. The sweet smell of sugar and vanilla seemed to emenate from the walls themselves.  No seating inside, just grab your cake and go perch yourself in a nearby West Village park bench.

In the window is cases of their most popular cakes and a sack of boxes. Just grab a box and help yourself to those. And we certainly did help ourselves! Lucky this park bench isnt outside the shop anymore… i dont think we’d ever leave!

The windows of Bergdorf Goodmans store was beautifully decorated with displays of fashion through out the decades.

We tried hard to angle the photo so you could see more of the garments in the window and less reflection of the citys buildings and people. But that pretty much unavoidable. Thats NY, always in your face!
