Did you work them all out? Appearing in order: “Up in the Air”, “An Education”, “Hurt Locker”, “Avatar” and “Precious”. Ive seen all of the nominated films except “An Education”, so far my pick for best film is Precious. The story will tear your heart up in little pieces and then tape it back up miraculously. Hurt Locker is also fantastic, Katherine Bigelow is an amazing director! There was one point during this movie that The Husband and I were literally sitting on the edge of the couch with baited breath. Go and see both these films, before the Oscars, if you can. Two thumbs up! For Tavis Coburn too!!

Now this may be a bit morbid, but i love the colour, negative space and the detail, from afar it would just be a series of vertical lines of varying width but up close:

its far more interesting, sinister and unexpected. I think it’d be cool in a work shed, craft room or kitchen- maybe a larged framed section rather than a whole wall, if youre a bit scared of it.

Theres also Elysian Fields with a slightly gothic feel, bats and all, this one could hide in plain sight as the florals are more pronounced:

The “Sunny with a slight chance of Helvetica” is wonderfully thought out and that punchy red just makes it a sure favourite of mine.

It even incorporates my favourite quote by Einstein: “Imagination is more important than knowledge”. Amen to that!

Max Shop are having a really great sale and i couldnt resist! Apart from the pattern and sunny colour, i love the ruching, gathering and pleats that make this dress really unique.

I love that peach pleated skirt, they didn’t have it in my size otherwise it’d be in my wardrobe right now! And the electric blue dress is a different version of the yellow checked dress im wearing. Did you buy anything exciting in the post christmas sales?

Look what happens when creative minds and hands collaborate on a special project! I have a soft spot for typography and when you put 3 clever minds together magic happens. This was created for the “If You Could Collaborate” exhibition. Makes me want to buy a jigsaw!

Tonight we’ll see the end of 2009 and welcome 2010 in with a boom! Literally! We’ll be at the top of the Husbands office builfing with some friends and their kids, watching the fireworks  and having a little celebration of our own.

2009 has been a huge year for us- we got a new house, sold an old house, got new jobs, new hair, took a holiday and are already making plans for next years holiday. For 2010 i hope Nicholas will love starting kindergarten, we’ll thoroughly enjoy our holiday, perhaps buy an investment property and do a lot more design work!
