The very definition of patience

I was wondering last Sunday, why we celebrate Easter with eggs. JC didnt exactly hatch from one.

Apparently Christian authorities forbade the eating of eggs before Easter (possibly something to do with Lent and fasting) so on Easter Sunday eggs were decorated and eaten in abundance. And have since gone on to represent the resurrection of Christ.

Now don’t freak out, I’m not starting some wacky sermon trying to recruit you all into my new egg worshiping church! Although the kids have received enough eggs for me to lure bus loads of small children into my sugar fuelled congregation.

I happened to find an amazing photo of Slovenian artist Franc Grom drilling approximatley 2-3,500 holes into the shell of a standard egg

to make these beautifully decorated, intricate pieces of art

They look so gorgeous suspended over their illuminated bases, a display piece you could keep out well after the easter holidays. The patterns are inspiring and i imagine he’s mastered his craft to the point where he’s not sitting in a pile of shattered egg shells, cursing away, like i would be in the same situation!

AMAZING!
